Melksham Forward Event a real success

This evening I attended the Melksham Forward event organised by the Area Board and Melksham Community Area Partnership. The event, held in the Assembly Hall, was attended by representatives from all areas of the Melksham community and gave people the opportunity to discuss how they felt services could be improved or delivered in the area.
I have to say that I was really impressed by the entire event and particularly the facilitators who worked so hard at making it a success. The challenge for those of us in elected positions now is to turn the good work undertaken by the community into reality. This means working together for the common good and making sure that we don't forget the clear message we heard this evening.
Topics discussed ranged from transport to health and well-being to the environment as well as housing, culture and the arts, economic development and employment and community safety.
So my congratulations to everyone who was involved in the event, not just the organisers but also everyone who attended. You all made it something special - now lets all work together over the next 12 months to turn some of these asperations into realities.
