Last Chance to Save Melksham's Town Centre Library
-
Published on Thursday 10th February 2011 by Jon Hubbard
Wiltshire Council have now issued their proposals for the new Melksham Campus and, as expected, they intend to close the town centre Library and move it to a new out-of-town campus by the new Melksham Oak Community School.
We have one last chance to influence this decision and try and let the people making these decisions in County Hall know how the majority of Melksham residents really feel about loosing their library.
Melksham Community Area Partnership are going to be running a series of consultation events, the first of which is being held this Saturday between 1pm and 4pm in the Assembly Hall. At this event, which is open to all, you should be able to view the plans for the new campus and see exactly what the plans are.
I'll be there on Saturday to let them know how I feel and I will be joined by local MP Duncan Hames who has pledged his support to the campaign to save the town centre library.
Please do go along and let them know what you think!
